A 3-Day movement immersion in the heart of Mexico City
October 17-19, 2025
Early Bird Pricing is on now!

Join Cecily Milne at Lila Yoga for the first international Yoga Detour® training since 2020.

This immersive experience is designed for yoga teachers, movement educators, and passionate practitioners who are ready to move with greater intention, clarity, and purpose.

Rather than offering a catalogue of poses or complex sequences, this training invites you to explore how and why movement matters. You’ll learn the foundational principles of the Detour Method to keep the practice engaging and ultimately sustainable.

Using the Isolate-Activate-Integrate framework, you’ll discover:

  • How to look at any movement through a deeper lens of understanding

  • Pathways of progression to help even the most skeptical students discover new areas of possibility and accomplishment

  • A renewed connection to your practice that prioritizes adaptability and sustainability over aesthetics

Meet Your Facilitator

Cecily Milne

There is nothing that brings me more satisfaction than bringing people back to life through movement.

When we learn to tap into the therapeutic power of physical practice, we arm ourselves with a tool that no one can take from us—a tool that builds strength and mobility while diminishing pain and structural imbalances.

My teaching is known for blending simplicity with substance. We’ll introduce effort into areas of your body you may have never accessed before using movements that are simultaneously accessible and challenging.

Even the most advanced practitioner can have a humbling (and rewarding!) experience when we move with intentional specificity.

I look forward to sharing the transformative tools that make the Detour unlike any other approach out there.

If you’re stuck on a plateau, yearning for a spark of inspiration to revive your practice, this training will fill your cup like nothing else has before. Expect to walk away feeling invigorated and rewired in the best way possible.

Program Overview

Day One: The Golden Thread

  • How to bring purpose and specificity to every practice

  • How to leverage seemingly simple themes to create sequences and progressions that are the furthest thing from boring

  • How to avoid the common but ineffective “everything but the kitchen sink” approach to class planning

  • How to harness the power of discernment and intentionality to make every class full of “ah-ha!” moments

Day Two: Reconciling Repetition with Exploration

  • Understanding when and how to use mindful repetition to create better learning experiences

  • How to hold space for experiential learning to that every practice becomes a celebration of curiosity and exploration

  • How to integrate forms of play and experimentation, venturing beyond conventional vinyasa flow into a realm where alignment rules and “shoulds” don’t apply

Day Three: Thinking Critically, Moving Creatively

  • How to look at any pose or action through a lens of that asks, “What does this movement have to offer? Why are we doing it?”

  • How to address key movement components to make any complex pose more attainable—regardless of age or experience level

  • How to blend yoga asana with strength and mobility work to bridge the gap between familiarity and novel exploration

Cecily will also lead an all-levels class on Thursday, October 16th at 6pm. This class is not included in the immersion, has limited capacity, and costs 500 MXN. Register directly through Lila Yoga if you wish to attend.

If you’re searching for new and expansive ideas to bring into your practice, this is the place to be. ”
